January 4, 2005 Archives

My day has been spent concentrating on the upcoming weather. Winter storms are never easy to pin down, and this is a perfect example. I expect much of Connecticut will see three or four different types of precipitation with the specific type changing back and forth over the course of the storm.

That's my bad news. My good news is BUFKIT, a computer program I wrote about a few weeks ago. If the computer data is accurate, this piece of software will have given me insight I never had before.

Meanwhile I'm just back from dinner. One of the waitresses in the restaurant asked about tomorrow's snow. When I told her the forecast she said she hoped it wouldn't snow. She doesn't understand. Once I say it's going to snow, it had better snow!

My days of hoping for a busted forecast to save the grief of dealing with bad weather are long gone.
