When brand new 80s/90s GM and Ford vehicles had an expected lifespan of ~100k miles, I still see Honda Preludes with 300K+ miles on them going down the highway.This is ONE, RELATIVELY ISOLATED issue! Your average F-150 pickup has hundreds of issues. how many Ford or GM vehicles do you see around that are more than 10 years old???? NOT MANY.I would still buy a Toyota over a GM or Ford any day- for anyone who wants to buy a vehicle for the same price and get 1/2 the lifespan of a comparable Toyota, knock yourself out.
