A Goddess On A Mountaintop

Without Helaine or Stef to keep me in line I asked “You know there’s a song with your name?”

At Tampa Airport. Pretty. Big. Newish. Had there been Cinnabon I would have treated myself. Damn.

Went to Starbucks for a Pike Road Grande. The barista was named “Venus.”

Without Helaine or Stef to keep me in line I asked “You know there’s a song with your name?”

She did not.

I don’t want to think how much older the song is than she!

  1. Hey Geoff,

    How is your mom doing?

As for the Venus song,,, yes it’s scary when we think we are so much older than others. I was in Physical Therapy today and met with a woman who I had been in Water Therapy before, we do ‘oldie’ songs. So, today I had met her when she was leaving Physical Therapy and I was going in, I started to sing “Toot, Toot Tootsie, Good-Bye” which she folled through with “Toot, Toot, Tootsie, don’t cry”.

I do have to tell you though, that I wasn’t alive when Al Jolson was, but I’ve seen pictures of him and heard him sing thanks to my mom’s sisters.

Yes, though I did feel old singing the song that was song wayyyyyyyyy before my time!
