When Viewers Say Hi

phpMIHhMzPM

I went out for dinner tonight with my boss. He was a few minutes late, so I hung out in front of the hostess podium. I wasn’t there more than a few minutes before a couple from Minnesota walked up say they enjoy watching.

You know, this stuff still affects me. It never gets old.

Actually, I was surprised. I’ve only been here a few months. Recognition takes time.

A few minutes later another couple, this time from Cathedral City, stopped to say hi.

Having a job like mine comes with built in advantages. It really is a fun and fulfilling occupation. Plus there’s no heavy lifting. Having viewers say hello is icing on the cake.

Dinner was great. I had pasta with fresh tomatoes and a Caesar salad with anchovies. These two ‘appetizers’ only made it better.

I actually don’t mind my boss didn’t get to see it. It was its own reward.

  1. no worries. Your boss must know how great you are already! You still have CT VIEWERS watching you Cali station! That has to count for something!

  2. See, popularity breeds, no matter which coast you are on. It won’t take long to build up another fan base. Look at Chris Valarti (WTNH)—announced yesterday he is leaving TV as of this Friday (on his blog/and in our local web newpaper). Today he is expressing how overwhelmed he was with the response. But with the TV exposure and through the use of all the computer gadgets we now have—it is easier to respond. Before computers there was no easy way to express one’s like/dislike to a TV personality. Call in radio was one way, but thankfully not used as such. You have always expressed joy with your work, to us, the public. Now we get to see that you also have an off screen life to. By the way, could you give me the new call letters again—I lost all previous info when my computer became encrypted and crashed. Thanks
