The Post Chemo Surprise

We were ready for my post-chemo weekend. Everything was all planned out.

It wasn’t as bad as anticipated. Maybe we scared most of the effects away?

Make no mistake, you don’t want to have a weekend like mine. Most of Saturday was spent in bed with sporadic trips downstairs. I would nap a few hours and be ready for more sleep in 20 minutes.

Beyond that was the full body fatigue I’ve tried to explain, probably not effectively, before. Sometimes just standing and sitting are tough to do. Each step is labored. Concentration or deep thought are not recommended. It’s more than just being tired. That’s the part I’m not sure I’m explaining.

It’s just past midnight Monday morning. I’m not near 100% yet, but enough pep has returned for me to be functional. The worst has passed.

Thursday is my last chemo treatment. It is followed by a Neulasta chaser the next day. That has not been a fun combo for me. We’ll be ready again next weekend come what may.

  2. Keep up the good work, Geoff! Us fans would be very disappointed if you gave up now! Your almost there. Best of luck to you and even if it means bed and sleep for the weekend.

  3. Hang in there Geoff it’s almost over and soon it will be in your rear view mirror. I have four more to go and looking forward, as you are, to easier days ahead.

  4. So happy for you, that your treatments are almost over Geoff. I want to give a shoutout to Helaine & your daughter, as I know they have been there supporting & helping you in every way possible since the beginning of your diagnosis. I’m sure that this has been as much of a scary and trying ordeal for them, as it has been for you. You are so blessed to have such loved ones in your life…and all of the extended family, friends & fans who have kept you in their prayers daily. I will continue those prayers for you, that this heinous disease has been eradicated from your body forever.
