Weather Ups and Downs

Wednesday was cold. Thursday was mild. Friday will be cold again. There’s no doubt, it’s a topsy turvy weather pattern.

Sometimes, the most interesting part of the weather is taking it apart after it’s happened.

Take a look at this graph of temperatures at Meriden, CT from Wednesday afternoon through Thursday morning. The temperature plunged, from 22&#186 at 7:00 PM to 5&#186 at midnight. By 1:00 AM, it was back up to 21&#186.

In total, the temperature swung 33&#186 in 12 hours. Wow. For Connecticut, that’s unusual.

  1. Geoff,

I might question the overall accuracy of the Meriden reading. At 5:30 this Sunday morning on the weather channel, the reading in Meriden was reported at -9 while all other reporting stations ranged from 0 to 4 above.

P.S. As a fellow pokerstars.com player, playing under ctlawndude, I found your best advise to be play not to lose. Being less aggressive and winning smaller pots seems to be a better strategy than going for the big win and losing. Good Luck to you.
