Usually the postman delivers our mail at the curb. This afternoon he was at our door with an armful of mail and a few packages.
I opened the door and before he could hand me the goods, he told me there were two deer across the street.
Sure enough, hiding behind (and eating) some bushes on the far side of my neighbor’s house were two full size deer. I would guess they were 150 yards away. I ran to get my camera and the long telephoto lens.
I know, deer aren’t that exciting. But, even though we live in exurbia and I see deer late at night all the time, I’m still a city boy at heart and deer are out of the ordinary.
