No Snow – Thankfully

I’ve been keeping a very close eye on tomorrow’s weather. Even more anal than usual! How often is snow possible in April?

It looks like we dodge the bullet this time. On the other hand, my sister and brother-in-law in Milwaukee are watching the snow fall right now.

Everyone I speak with, even the snow lovers, are begging for spring.

Maybe most puzzling is, this extended period of cold weather – what some are calling the coldest April on record – comes as the rhetoric on Global Warming ramps up another notch.

  1. I probably sound like a broken record at this point, but not all snow lovers are begging for spring! Our mountain in Vermont just extended the season to April 22nd (from the 15th), which has the members of this family grinning from ear to ear!

Of course, I realize skiers are weird, so I’ll extend my sympathies to the non-skiing populace. But hey, if nothing else at least some of us will be happy this weekend, right?

  2. I’m in Madison… We got 5.3 inches here, which set the record for April 11th most snowfall in a 24-hr period.

Milwaukee, on the other hand, got something like 7 or 8 inches. I wonder if it was just luck of the draw of if they got enhancement from the “Michigan Ocean”

I hear another system is off to our west, but so far, 27 Weather Central says it’ll go south of us.
