The attached photo came this afternoon. It’s from my sister in a suburb of Milwaukee. You’re looking out the window at snow – lots of snow!
You know the weather has to suck when Wisconsin closes.
As of 11:00 PM CST, Milwaukee officially has 17″ of snow. A few hours earlier, Beloit checked in with 21″.
Is it any wonder they cherish summer as they do?
Although the snow began falling Tuesday evening, the bulk of the storm hit midday Wednesday as the National Weather Service continued to push back the expiration time of the winter storm warning – from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., then 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. – Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel
Holy crap, they canceled Lion King! This is serious.
Here in the southern half of Connecticut we’ve had a gentle winter – at least as far as snow is concerned. Sure, we can still get belted, but each day is another step closer to spring.
From the perspective of a snow lover this has been a horrendous winter. I’m beginning to hate Connecticut weather.

It was nasty here in Madison, too. Most of the city was shut down by the snow, and the interstate was a night mare. We interviewed a guy, via phone, who had been stuck on I-90 near Stoughton (roughly on the Dane /Rock county line). The only way I made it into work last night was because the production supervisor has a truck and was giving people rides.

I got in at 2pm yesterday and with-in the first hour I was there, I directed 3 weather related cut-ins. We ended up running updates every 1/2 hour at the top and bottom of the hour until the 5pm newscast. (I’m sure we had some pissed off soap opera viewers, because we cut-in to General Hospital).
Anyway, I’ll take my camera outside when I go out to un-bury my car. I hope my parking lot got plowed, as there was a car that was stuck and I don’t know if a plow could get in.
