This Spring Day

“Look,” she said, pointing at the door to the deck.

IMG_9827.JPGI walked downstairs this early afternoon and found Helaine on the sofa.

“Look,” she said, pointing at the door to the deck.

It was open. The Sun was shining. Birds, clandestinely trucked back to Connecticut overnight, were chirping for the first time.

Today is the first day since October 23 that we’ve hit 70&#176!

IMG_9831.JPGThere’s no spring color yet. The trees are bare too, but a closer look (see photos) shows the buds have begun their transition to leaves.

It is finally spring. No matter how much we like weather in other places (and we do), this one time of year, in this one beautiful place, can’t be beat. The problem is, it’s not dependable. It never lasts.

Rain returns tomorrow. The chill is back by the weekend. My love affair with this spring weather will be unrequited.
