You Just Can’t Make This Stuff Up

The goal of this kind of spam is to make the email seem real and handwritten just for me.

I got an email tonight from “Sara Smith” webmaster of a site I won’t mention.

I find your blog very interesting to read. Your way of writing can magnet and lure a lot of visitors/readers. Would you be able to write about our product after visiting our site?

Or if you have a friend who is interested to try our product, we can send you one. From this, you can gain insights and share your friend’s experience to us.

I would really be interested to know if you would be able to post your findings/review in your blog https://www.geofffox.com, it may be a positive or negative one, with links to our site.

Regards,

Sara Smith

Uh huh.

The goal of this kind of spam is to make the email seem real and handwritten just for me. Unfortunately for Sara, it sniffs of non-native English. Her compliments–I don’t think so. And, of course she doesn’t care what the review says, because a link (seen by Google) is all that matters. A Google search of this made-up product name finds 12,800 mentions. Sara’s been successful.

I had to click on the site myself and see the product she wanted reviewed. Here’s a brief sample of the content.

The first benefit comes from the magnet. ProductName™ contains a strong rare earth magnet that creates a magnetic field around the base of your penis where the blood enters.

When blood flows through this magnetic field, the blood cells spin then separate from each other giving each cell more surface area to carry much more oxygen and vital nutrients to your penis. The magnetic field also widens your penis’s blood vessels allowing more blood to flow through.

You just can’t make this stuff up!
