Light Snow Day

It’s gray out now. The road surfaces are snow free but wet. Ice tonight. That’s certain. Not good. Four wheel drive is useless against ice.

We had light snow mixed with sleet last night. I slept through morning drive, but I’m sure there were delays and probably a few cancellations.

It’s not that we’re wusses–OK, maybe a little. It’s more that there’s utility in a forecast which has become more accurate over the years (not infallible, unfortunately). It’s OK to change your schedule if there’s a reasonable expectation you’ll benefit in the long run.

I threw the 70-300mm Sigma lens on “Clicky” and briefly opened the front door. I haven’t used this lens much recently. It’s the kind of glass a neophyte gets before they know any better. It needs lots of light to perform decently and even then it’s never truly sharp. What a lens like this can produce is a nice blurry background on close-up objects shot at the full 300mm.

It looks like more snow… a lot more snow… is on the way for Friday.

I quoted you on that yesterday after you said it, so it must be a good one.
