I posted some photos of our barely covered bushes and trees yesterday. In order to fit them on the website I shrunk the files. That’s what I normally do. You lose a lot of detail.
Below is a 100% crop from one of yesterday’s images. That means it’s only a part of the original photo, but it hasn’t been shrunk at all. The complete image file would be many times larger than your screen!
At this level noise in the capture starts to become evident as do those little ice balls on the bush. It begins to take on a non-photographic look. With a better camera and a better lens this wouldn’t be as obvious, but I seldom have a need to work at this resolution.
The photo below is larger on the screen than in real life. The photo below it shows where this crop came from on the original photo.

I many ways the picture looks more like a Artist rendition than a Photo. I would make a very interesting poster.
