We’re Go For Snow

Making these forecasts never gets easier. The downside of a bad forecast never diminishes. This is why I had trouble sleeping last night… and will again tonight.

one-icicle.jpgI just took a look at the NAM and GFS, two dynamic weather forecast models. Snow. Succinct enough? Lots of it too! By the time we’re done most of the state will be on the higher side of 6-12″.

  1. The more the better…but with the chance of a little warm air working in aloft I’m sure we’ll see some sleet mix in along the shore.

    Geoff,

Is it me or have we see an awful lot of sleet the last couple of winters?

  2. Why do you forecast a specific number of inches for an area? Aren’t you just setting yourself up? That’s way too specific, and way too much pressure on you.

Why not just say 6-12 inches and leave it at that – this IS Connecticut, after all.

  3. Jack, is that really necessary? Cmon, let’s be mature, this is an informative blog that Geoff puts together, there is no need for you to say that about him. I don’t know Geoff personally but I read his blog daily as it is informative, entertaining and well written. If you feel the need to make a cheap shot against him, do it somewhere else. I personally think Geoff does a terrific job forecasting; do you think you could do any better?

  4. Two comments were removed from this thread by me. It is not because I was called a jackass (which I was), but because the person made up information and then tried to pass it off as fact.
