May I Vent?

He must have won the lottery. He was a no show on this beautiful weekend

May I vent?

We need some work done at the house. It’s outside work and needs relatively mild temperatures. As you probably know, mild was MIA most of this winter.

A few weeks ago the temperature popped up where it belonged, but the guy who was supposed to do the work was nowhere to be seen. I was frustrated. He had excuses–though I really didn’t believe him.

This past week we talked again. I told him my frustration. Luckily warm weather was coming and he promised to be there to do the work this weekend. “I need the money,” he said on the phone. “I can’t turn down work.”

He must have won the lottery. He was a no show on this beautiful weekend. And, of course the forecast now returns to chilly. Our big opportunity temporarily disappears.

I am livid. I’m sure Helaine is too.

Tomorrow someone else will come and take a look at the work. I am done with this guy. At some point the job will be done–hopefully sooner rather than later.

I don’t like to be made a fool.
