Strange Summer Weather

Spring was a no-show in Connecticut this year. Now summer is acting a little strange in a good way. After a long period of rainy days (I have yet to water my lawn) we’ve turned the corner.

Here’s the latest observation from nearby New Haven

METAR KHVN 141753Z 18008KT 10SM FEW045 24/12 A3001 RMK AO2 SLP161 T02390122 10244 20194 58005

Basically it says there are few clouds and a light southerly breeze. It’s 75&#176 with a dew point of 54&#176. 75&#176/54&#176 means mild and dry–San Diego like!

This summer has, so far, evaded high humidity. That’s really unusual and unlikely to last.

Sleeping summer nights with the windows open is quite a treat. So is saving money by not running the air conditioner.
