Stratford Beach Photography

stratford-lighthouse-property-US-sign.jpgA few days ago Helaine said she’d like to come along if I wanted to take some pictures today. Are you kidding? Of course! We headed to the shore mid-afternoon.

I was looking for something new to photograph and lighthouses seem reasonably photogenic. Thanks to Stan Amster’s suggestion we drove to the Stratford Lighthouse.

It’s not a particularly tall or majestic structure. It actually sits behind a chain link fence, limiting the angles from which it can be shot. On top of that the path to the rocky beach below was too treacherous for me to attempt (or so the signs said).

Here are a few from the lighthouse and nearby Park Boulevard in the Lordship section of Stratford.

  1. These photos may be my favorites! I had no clue there was a neat little lighthouse so close. You really should do up some of your photos to sell. Just incredible…

  2. Gorgeous! I love lighthouse but the photo of the grasses with the sunset in the background is my favorite.

    It could be a postcard!!

Have you ever photographed Ledge Light in the Thames River? A couple of great vantage points are Avery Point and Bluff Point (after a hike)!
