Tallulah Is Relaxed

She spent the night under-the-covers as a wedge between Helaine and me. As with her sofa time she was mostly in a state of suspended animation.

If you’re wondering how Tallulah is doing during her visit to ‘la casa Zorro’ the answer is great! She has claimed her side of the sofa and sees little reason to stray. Think Ambien with legs.

She spent the night under-the-covers as a wedge between Helaine and me. As with her sofa time she was mostly in a state of suspended animation.

Tallulah is a rescue dog (as Tracey mentioned in an earlier comment). When she first came to Connecticut she was skittish and warily defensive. No more. Except for her habit of ‘speed eating’ she shows no sign of anxiety or fear. Tallulah understands Tracey’s commitment to her.

There is one more activity Tallulah speeds though–going! In the three times I took her out yesterday she hardly hit the tiny piece of our lawn not covered by snow before she began to do her business. Impressive!

We’re glad Tallulah is visiting, but we know even though this sleepover is a favor to Tracey it’s more a favor to us. Dogs make people happy.

  1. They do indeed – life with dogs (and cats, for me) is much different than without. She looks like a happy camper – and why not? And she sounds like the ideal house guest – human visitors should be so low-maintenance!

  2. What a good girl! Pets bring so much joy to our lives………dogs and cats are both wonderful. Enjoy her visit. 🙂

  3. Geoff our English springer spaniel is also a speed eater.
10 years now since we picked him up from the humane society.

Gets along well with our cat too.

You are so right they make us happy

  4. Yes, dogs make people happy…It is unconditional love that they give us that puts a smile on my face everyday when I come home from work. There is nothing that makes me smile more than my Airedale romping to the door, wagging her tail uncontrollably and giving me her doggie kisses! Now that is priceless!

  5. I do crossposting of emails from all over the East for dogs in need of rescue every day. Many have only days or hours before they will be euthanized.
It is so wonderful when a dog or cat finds a loving home!

I decided about 8 months ago to try my hand at fostering a dog from GA. She was a never-loved dark brown little pitbull puppy that I named Sable (or actually “Say-Bull”).
Well, let’s just say I have been more successful at crossposting than at fostering, because this little mini-bull now lives with us permanently! 🙂

  6. I’m starting to seriously consider getting another dog. Since I want one that is already housebroken, I’ll get a rescue dog. My last two dogs were shelter dogs and they were wonderful. You, however, should probably wait until you know where you will be settling. (I certainly hope it is on CT!)
