The Los Angeles Times (sister publication of my TV station and the Hartford Courant) originally published this “Before-and-After” from Joplin, Missouri. It is produced from Google Earth and other satellite imagery. It is among the most chilling tornado images I’ve ever seen!
Joplin Before And After (photo)
It is among the most chilling tornado images I’ve ever seen.
Suddenly our winter pales by comparison. And to think their destruction/heartbreak all happens in less than 15 minutes.
Wow, that is chilling. Those poor people.
We have nothing to complain about here.
I’ve seen this kind of devastation in small towns in Alabama (used to live there). We’re talking a MAJOR southern city with Joplin.
I’d bet similar pictures came out of Tuscalosa, AL as well.
I’m not going to complain about SOCAL earthquakes ever again…
Oh. My. God. Oh. My. God.
HOLY SHIT!!!!
Think that about sums it up for me.
This is beyond comprehension. Oh my God is an understatement.
INSANE!!! Sharing on my fb page!!
I couldn’t begin to imagine what those people are going through. My donation to the Red Cross is going out tonight.
Hey, when I clicked on the like button, a picture of Donald Trump came up with the correct link. What’s up with that?
I apologize. Facebook doesn’t quite know what to do what a page has multiple photos.
That was, and is the Joplin High School and surrounding neighborhood.
Horrific. I’m entirely horrified.
There are no words….
what is amazing, besides the devastation, is that the roads, are, for the most part, passable. Everything was picked up and blown away. Where did it land? It had to go SOMEWHERE<<??
WE WERE IN JOPLIN WHEN IT HIT. WE ME MY HUSBAND MY MOM AND OUR 10 YR OLD DAUGHTER
Starking similarity between these photos and those of Hiroshima and Nagasaki before & after the blast.
