Hartford Breaks 100&#176

The temperature will continue to rise for the next few hours. That record will surely fall.

It’s only noon. Hartford’s Brainard Airport has reached 100&#176. Bradley Airport is reporting 99&#176, two degrees short of the record for July 22nd. The temperature will continue to rise for the next few hours. That record will surely fall.

Uncomfortable? Sure. It’s still better than shoveling, plowing and driving in snow!

  1. I can always put more layers on to warm up. At some point I can no longer remove layers to cool off. I’ll take the snow as well!!

  2. Tod – I don’t know you, but under certain circumstances and for certain people less clothing becomes another advantage of summer weather.

  3. Sorry Geoff…I would rather shovel snow…and add more clothes, blankets etc. I have two different readings at my house..both in the shade..102 and 106..that’s in Waterbury. Maybe some people have central air..or many a/c in their house..and can afford to run them…I can not..I have one running..and I am doing a good job at keeping house at 83

    1. Lori,
The weatherbug is using St’s Peter & Paul’s station. One of the old “School Net” stations… Topped out @ 110° today. I have central and it’s workin’ like a dog but the house is 74° right now so I have no complaints.

  4. Come on down to Southwest Fl. High about 93 today and most days in the summer. Highest temp on this date was 97 many years ago. Clear blue skies, white puffy clouds. And oh yeah we NEVER get snow. That’s why we moved here.

  5. feels like vegas when i was out there in august last year and was 112 degrees. it did get down to 104 at midnight
