Stuff You See While Flying (Photo)

Here’s a shot I got as we flew over the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge. Just in case you’re not familiar with the area I’ve also included an annotated version.

My flight to Florida departed White Plains then turned west. Once we got to the Hudson River we turned south flying parallel to Manhattan then along the Jersey Shore all the way to Cape May.

  1. Great pic, Geoff. Thanx for the annotations, but you forgot to mark my old dwelling, on Knapp Street. You can almost see it from here.

  2. I can’t believe the clarity of that picture! I’ve travelled that bridge a number of times,–especially when we lived in Richmond Hill,Queens and later out on LI, and were heading south to Philly and beyond. It all looks great from above. Too bad the water isn’t really that blue!

  3. Great Pix
I have flown in and out of White Plains many times. On your way back you will probably come up the Jersey Shore, then head east over Long Island, then near the eastern part of LI, cross and follow the Ct Coastline to about Greenwich before heading inland to land.

  4. Geoff,

Loved the detail on the pics of Brooklyn! My husband and I are taking our son into Brooklyn on Fri. to visit Pratt Inst. Easier to drive or take the train? Leaving from Danbury. The train to Grand Central plus all the transfers looks complicated!!

    We love reading your blog,
