Tallulah Eats! (video)

If we’re going to compare year-to-year speeds there’s going to have to be some sort of handicap factored in.

“She’s eating slower,” I said to Helaine. Next to her long, thin shape Tallulah’s Hooverish devouring of food is her most recognizable feature!

Tallulah hasn’t changed. Her food has. With a healthier homemade diet in place her food forms smaller clumps.

She still cleans her plate!

  1. She even likes her veggies!!! I had a friend who cooked chicken, rice and veggies for her dog every night. When I dog-sat–I swear the dog’s food looked better than the take out I was eating!

  2. Years ago, we had a dog named Cynnie who loved his dinner, as most dogs do. But, he had a decided aversion to peas. We’ve generally added extra stuff from our own dinner to the dog food that was the dog’s primary diet. It didn’t matter what we added to the dinner, how much, or how hungry he was. When he finished eating, we would always find any peas lined up in the bend between the bottom of his dish and the sides. No need to count. We knew he didn’t miss one.

  3. We have a diabetic cat now and he is not allowed to “graze” anymore like he used to. He vacuums up his food like that too. Question: I thought dogs eat mostly meat with little veggies(for their health). Am i wrong?

    1. Dogs should eat meat and carbs. Dogs are omnivores. Cats, on the other hand, are obligate carnivores. Cats require more protein than carbs.

  4. Pure joy watching Miss Tallula scarf down her dinner! Love the snout checking for any missed particles on the lovely refinished floors! Glad you get to keep her another day.
