Sunday is the annual Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation “Walk to Cure Diabetes.” I have been involved with JDRF longer than I can remember. It’s one of those things that seemed so right it was impossible to leave. When you understand what diabetes does and how possible a cure is it’s tough to feel otherwise.
The walk is a fundraiser. People get teams together and have friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers pledge money for the distance walked.
We get thousands of people every year in North Haven. This is not hyperbole. Thousands. It’s pretty cool.
