My weekend has changed. There are some temporary shifts at the station and I’ve moved to a Sunday through Thursday schedule. Maybe it would be different if Stef was still at home or if I worked days. I think I’m going to like this.
Today is not the perfect example of the kind of Friday I’m looking for! It’s gloomy and will only go downhill through the afternoon. In other words the weather will suck.
The real advantage is having Friday evening off while ‘only’ giving up Sunday evening. Sunday is an easier day at work with a more casual attitude.
This is only going to last a few months. I’m not going to get too used to it. Today I plan on enjoying it.
It’s tough on families when “Dad” has to work weekends – my husband worked Wed-Sun for a few yrs when the kids were young. If you working weekends can do the sunshine dance any better, though, I’m all for it!
It is always nice to “shake up” the routine now and then. It will give you and Helaine some time together you would not normally have in the evenings. Have a great Friday and a great weekend.
