Behind The Scenes: Darlene On Letterman

It’s a behind the scenes look at Darlene Love’s annual Letterman appearance and a rendition of “Christmas (Baby, please come home)” produced by editing all the previous performances.

The one-and-only Matt Scott sent me this link tonight. It’s a behind the scenes look at Darlene Love’s annual Letterman appearance and a rendition of “Christmas (Baby, please come home)” produced by editing all the previous performances.

  1. Geoff,
Thank you for this video post on Darlene Love! That is one classic song from a great voice! It is somewhat of an emotional song for me in some personal ways but I love the song. She still has that great voice after so many years!! I was very very young when that song came out but love the music from that time period! Thank you for sharing it and please thank Matt Scott as well!!!! You and Matt ROCK!!!

    Thank you!!!

  2. Thank you, Geoff! I had never heard of Darlene Love until I started reading your blog, but she is a great singer, and I loved this video. Please thank Matt Scott. I also very much enjoyed the story about her on CBS’s Sunday Morning.

  3. I can’t even imagine what it must be like to be able to sing like that – that bit is amazing, every year – it’s a tradition for me to watch it. Thanks for posting this!

  4. I wasn’t aware of the Letterman Christmas tradition until Geoff introduced me to it in 2006. Now it’s a must see every year. Some years the production values seem much more robust than others. Darlene is always superb but they seemed to skimp on the rest this year.

  5. Matt Scott! I assume you mean the meteorologist. Boy, I haven’t heard that name since he and WTNH parted company. I hope he’s doing well.
