Let The Web Begin

Helaine, Doppler and I are please to announce the opening of DopplerDesign.com, our new web development company. It’s the culmination of lots of thought and months of work.

Our plan is to serve small businesses and professional practices. These are businesses which often have no website or a site that needs a more contemporary look.

In 2013 there’s no choice. Today’s first contact is often over the web–not necessarily on a computer. DopplerDesign.com builds responsive websites, meaning they look great no matter what size or resolution the screen–even a cellphone.

If you don’t have a site, you don’t exist!

After three decades on TV, I understand the power of video. DopplerDesign.com will specialize in websites with video. It’s not that hard to do (meaning not that expensive) and it’s incredibly effective.

I’d love to make a functional and beautiful design for you. The DopplerDesign.com website will give you an idea of my skills. Each site is custom built for maximum effectiveness and reflects the vision of the site’s owner.

If you watched me on television for any length of time you know I don’t overpromise and I never hype. I will make you happy.

Most of you reading this have no need for a website, but I’d like you to take a look anyway. Maybe you have a friend or relative looking for a web presence. I’d appreciate your word-of-mouth help.

You can even share this on Facebook or Twitter. Look what Geoff Fox is doing now!

  1. Just took a look.
I don’t know you but I know of you.

If I may be honest, it is very hard to read, at first.
It lacks luster, it borders blah.

There is no excitment, there is nothing there but a grey background. Actually, a bit harsh on the eyes.

You expect to create a website for people, either with a business, or just for fun. You want to capture people’s attention. The first 5 seconds of walking into someone’s front door, you make your first impression. The same goes for a website.

The dog’s picture, is a cute logo.
I wish you well with this new chapter in your life.

  2. Geoff, the layout is fine, but Shell does have one point I agree with. The print in the four boxes is a bit hard to read – a slightly lighter background or perhaps a less textured background would make it easier to read for those of us with post-40 eyes.

And you really do need to get Helaine off the witness protection program. 🙂

  3. Very good work Geoff! My only comment is to be sure to provide enough contrast between background and text. The black on medium gray background is OK, but getting closer to difficult to read. Keep up the good work! Love the name, and glad Helaine is part of the business. Best of luck.

  4. Well, I’m impressed. Strikes me as very tasteful, well designed and informative. Had no problems with text/background and negotiating the pages was smooth. I wish you well in your new endeavor. Wish I was still selling First Editions online, I would certainly be interested in your work.

    John

  5. Geoff….

If you need a social media/marketing guru to get Dopplerdesign.com noticed on the social media networks…I know where you can find someone willing to help in that department. 😉

  6. As a part-time copyeditor, I also need to say this: “start to finish” has no dashes in it! 🙂

Best of luck with this endeavor, Geoff. The Web needs conscientious developers, and everyone with a business needs some sort of web site!!

  7. Geoff, Would you consider doing a gratis web site for a young man who made pins for the Newtown First Responders? I just saw a piece by Bob Wilson on WTNH on line about Newtown and pins being sold to fund the First Responders for their future care. He is doing this so far by only word of mouth.

I think your company page is clean and crisp although I agree with other posts that some of the lettering needs to be darker as it seems to blend into the gray.

To You, Helaine, and yes little Doppler too, Mazel Tov.
