Tucson: First Impression

Our flight from Los Angeles to Tucson was uneventful. That’s just how I like it.

Bags came quickly.

Got the car quickly.

Went back to point out a few dings. On our way.

Our rental car is a Toyota Camry. I don’t know how Helaine did this, but it’s under $30 for two days!

It’s dark, so there’s little of the land I can comment on.

You will be amazed at this. Regular gas is $3.119/10. Helaine wanted to know if we could bring some back in our luggage?

We passed a “Super Target.” Show offs.

We passed a bunch of EEGEE’s. It’s fast food, but beyond that I’m lost. I thought I knew all the fast food joints. Guess not.

We found an FM station playing Casey Kasem’s American Top-40 from this week in 1983. Lot’s of good songs from Journey, Rick Springfield, Al Jarreau and Culture Club. Whatever happened to them?

Pre-Internet! Casey did a long distance dedication. And the countdown continues.

More from Tucson when the Sun’s up later today.

  1. Sounds like a great trip! I’ll have to get my husband to read this, maybe he’ll get the urge to travel. It’s been too long.
But meanwhile, you are missing some glorious weather here in CT!
