The Movers Take Over

image

I thought I’d give a little running commentary on what’s going on today. The movers are here. They’re taking the things we’ve packed over the past few weeks and putting them on a truck.

The goal is to get out of here in the next few hours. I’m not actually sure we’ll achieve that, but it is the goal.

If things go smoothly, we’ll try to make it through New York and New Jersey and into Pennsylvania before stopping for the night.

We didn’t get to bed until after 2am last night, so even at 11 am I’m dragging.

I’ll try to make a few posts today, but reading comments will have to wait.

  1. Interestingly enough, your Blog entry 3 years ago today was entitled “Someday When We Move”. Someday has arrived. Good luck on the Left Coast. We’ll be watching with interest.

  2. Geoff, please don’t take off trying to drive on zero sleep–that’s a recipe for disaster…

Just remember the thing about goals–the schedule deadlines make a nice swooshing sound as you miss them.

Better to get some rest and drive fresh…

  3. Best of luck as you begin a new chapter of your life.
Looking forward to reading your posts as you settle in.
Thank you for helping us through our rough winters.
    We will miss you.

  4. OMG – how ironic you are leaving on the same day you wrote this 3 years ago! https://www.geofffox.com/MT/archives/2010/06/18/someday-when-we-move.php
Thanks for the heads up Geoff Ingalls. Lou, so appropriate, except it should be “face the final curtain in CT.”
You’ll have lots to read Geoff when you are rested up!! Keep in touch and maybe for something to do this winter you’ll keep an eye on our storms and keep us in the loop. Best, Maureen

  5. Safe travels. Hope you can relax a little and enjoy the trip. Kniles is looking forward to pictures of Doppler on the road (he went to Florida and back last winter to visit a friend)and in her new home.

  6. Best Wishes Friend. You will be missed; always delivered the forecast with class and honesty on both channels. Nobody that I have seen has replaced you on any station here as of yet. Try to send us a weather forecast next winter, when you can. Take care.

  7. Out there things can happen, and frequently do,
To people as brainy and footsy as you.
And when things start to happen, don’t worry, don’t stew.
Just go right along, you’ll start happening too!
