I’ve been involved in more shopping over the last month than any other time in my life. I’ve been in stores of every shape and size. If it can be bought, it’s crossed our sights.
That’s given me the opportunity to look closely at the stores themselves.
Winner of the coolest display goes to this miniature tent city from Coleman. When I first approached it I had no idea what I was seeing. Then it dawned, these were scale models.
I’d like one for Doppler, please.
I bought a bike. Stef and I looked at a bunch of stores where bikes are sold before settling on one at Dick’s.
I walked into one specialty store, looked at the bikes hanging from the ceiling and told Stef the price wasn’t too bad.
“That’s four numbers,” she replied.
I thought the bike was a little over $200. Oops.
At one store there were bandages in a first aid kit at the base of the bicycle display!
Finally… Maybe I’m missing something, but I thought squirrels were a scourge? We found one store with a large display of squirrel food.
Seriously? More squirrels? Pinch me.
We are in a neighborhood with a large bunny population. They are all over the place at night
It’s California. Even the wild animals are adorable.
You can find tents similar to those if you go to a cat show, I love my tents!
Oh dear, we can tell you haven’t been shopping much in your life. People feed squirrels everywhere there are squirrels. Squirrels stealing bird food? Annoying. Squirrels perched on their own feeder? Adorable. I used to work in a garden center 20 years ago and it was popular then.
Target has the mini-tent displays (and mini hammocks and mini patio pergolas). They’d probably sell more scale models than full size, if they were sale.
I can only explain the bandages by assuming a teenage employee was told ‘here, find a place for these’.
PS-Channel 8 won the Kids Camp Softball Tourney yesterday.
Was going to say the same thing SusyS did. My daughter always wanted those tent displays for her Barbies. I did consider feeding my squirrels, and we do have the food available all over CT, but the man in the garden center talked me out of it. More fun to watch them defeat my “squirrel proof” bird feeder anyway. I think CT wildlife is pretty cute, too. Maybe they are just more “laid back” in California. 🙂
Maybe the problem is, I have been so insulated from shopping until now.
After having several bird feeders destroyed by squirrels and chipmunks, my parents started feeding everyone on the deck table. The daytime animals are happy, and so are the nocturnal critters. Best of all, our indoor only cats get free entertainment.
The bandages are by the bikes because you should carry a first aide kit when you’re out on a bike ride. You carry a first aide kit in your car, right? It’s the same thing: Better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it. If you notice, the kits are small enough to fit in a pocket or in a bike bag. Have fun biking, but stay safe, and wear a helmet. 🙂
