Three Las Vegas Timelapse Videos

Yes, I am too obsessed with timelapse video. It’s a gimmick, but it’s often the best way to see mainly static scenes in a new light. At least that’s what I’m trying to convince myself.

Here are three timelapse videos. They were all shoot out our hotel window on the 24th floor of Aria in Las Vegas.

Windows are terrible for photography. That goes double for double pane windows, which is what we have here.

Of course there’s no choice. These windows don’t open!

If you’ve never been to Las Vegas this might wet your appetite.

  1. Geoff,
Watching your time lapse photography was interesting—it certainly is not the Vegas that I knew from the 1960’s—guess that’s why they call it Sin City–now.
What was equally interesting is when your video was finished, there were various choices for longer time lapse scenes of what I assume is in the area.
Off of this subject–I just discovered your new headings–and went to your video audition. Watching your segments from Fox was neat–although now I miss you more–especially with your garden and your science moments. I would think that doing the weather in So. Cal might be boring—no T-storms and Hail storms–in the winter out there you might get Flash Flooding, tho and the dry gulch rivers will fill up and cause havoc.
You sure are getting to do a lot of great things. I wish all of you well.

  2. Loved the videos, Geoff. In first and last video, I noticed a “tram” of some type running. Where does run to and from?
