Getting There From Here

We’re at John Wayne Airport. Yeah, that John Wayne.  This is SoCal where actors trump pols. Burbank’s airport is name for Bob Hope!

SNA is much more civilized than LAX… and a lot closer to home!  We can get here in under 20 minutes.

The problem with smaller airports like this is lack of non-stop flights.  LAX has one daily non-stop to Milwaukee. Our plane goes to Milwaukee, but first it stops in San Francisco.  After Milwaukee it continues to LGA in New York City.

Our plane isn’t here yet. I hope that’s not a problem.

  1. You are so right about smaller airports. I’ve flown out of LAX, Long Beach, Burbank, Ontario and San Diego, but never Orange Co or Palm Springs. Hopefully you don’t encounter any weather problems. Winter months is a bad time to be flying. You never know when you’ll get stuck.

  2. Geoff, beware of SFO! Flights are very frequently delayed both in and out of this airport because of fog in the morning during certain times of the year, and it screws up the entire day’s flights to and from small regional airports. I have had horrible transcontinental travel when flying through SFO to get to and from Medford, Oregon(where the weather is usually wonderful). I now avoid SFO unless absolutely necessary.
