My Dad Does Politics

Just got off the phone with my dad. Stef is here this afternoon. She said “hi” as well.

“That was nice,” he said as I took the phone back from Stef. It was.

We got to talking about politics this afternoon. We do a lot of that nowadays. He watches as much CNN as their master control operator, maybe more.

“It’s not so much Trump as the people who support him.”

He says they’re the ones who scare him.

“He was right,” my Dad continued before quoting The Donald. “He could shoot someone on 5th Avenue and nothing would change.”

Times are getting tougher for Mr. Trump. The press is digging and questioning his history more than earlier in the campaign. It’s long overdue. He mostly got a pass through the Republican nomination.

What if my dad is right that Trump is right? What if his supporters have weighed in his long list of faults already? What if they just don’t care? He’s worried about November.

My dad’s 91st birthday is around a month away. He’s lost nothing off the fastball.

  1. I agree with your dad 100%….I never put politics on my Facebook wall…but after this morning…I did…and I don’t regret it for a moment.

  2. I like Trump… I think H.C. I a lira lira and lies all the time… H.C. cares only about herself and I would never vote for her…. and I am 72 and I voted 2 times for her husband and times were different … She is a Cold person , I guess you have to be a woman who can really see through her.

  3. I totally agree with your dad. I am not happen with either candidate so not sure what I am going to do. Hey Geoff tell your dad would love for him to post one of his many jokes! Could really use the laughs right now.

  4. I’m horrified at election campaigning – NEVER – has there been such a charade of ditty laundry cleaning PUBLICLY – IF – only the debate was socialism vs democracy. If I were like several years ago, I wouldn’t vote.

  5. Donald Trump is an awful, disgusting person. But your dad has overlooked Trumps past, disregarded. But he wants to vote Republican, so it doesn’t matter. Millions are just like him.

  6. Hopefully the press will look into both Hillary and Trumps background.

I know I do not want a President to maintain her email (for anyone to hack) in a basement server. Hillary has acknowledged that she had uncleared personnel, to that FBI identified TS++ info, access that home brew set up.

Why did Hillary have 30,000 emails, all under congressional supeona deleted; using sophisticated deletion SW? How is her Clinton foundation tied to Pay for Visits, as Sec of State?

  7. Crazy as this may seem, I think it’s a setup arrangement between Trump and Hillary. Some back room agreement they made years ago to promot Hillary. I’ll try to get on the republican ticket and act like a jerk so people will become disenchanted with me a vot you in. Go Hillaary. Sounds to good to be a lie. Bet that’s what happened. They’re really friends. This is the worst election I’ve ever seen. I don’t like either one. Hillarys track record is terrible. Too many things go wrong and she never gets caught slippery like teflon just like her husband. 4 years and she’s out I betcha. If she lasts that long. Remember her leaving secretary of state position. Will she do the same as prez? oh, it’s too much pressure I’m leaving. I’ll send Bill in to replace me. Is Jennifer Flowers applying for his personal secretary? That’s nice.

    1. Robert, You are right that both candidates were friends in past & who knows what was cooked in the politico kitchen – & even if your complete story is true as suggested – keep in mind how one could change venue and take it from there. YES – WE THE PEOPLE have FAILED & have been bamboozled into thinking our elected officials will do the right thing. But, now @ end of day, both elected democrats and republicans worked together AGAINST the best interests of their constituencies. I for one believed that the controllers outside view of general public called the shots – like at a casino – which machine rolls out the coins.

        1. Well, I hope the Democracy makes it through the next four years. Then, maybe, just maybe, both parties will address the issue an put some decent candidates up for re-election. Hillary will probably have already left office like she did as Secretary of state. “Sorry folks I just can’t do this anymore. My vice prez will take over now. Later I’m off to Canada.”

          1. Robert, At this juncture & I as not a Trump fan in past NOW believe Trump’s ONLY answer to getting our sinking ship afloat again – NOT – staying stranded and earmarked for complete failure. If Trump can’t do it – then EXODUS to other countries will happen by disenfranchised populous.
