My friend Farrell, “International Man of Mystery™,” is currently in Monaco. As he did last week from Sao Paulo, Brasil Farrell emails photos which I love receiving. This shot is the morning view from his hotel.
I know I should be jaded and to my daughter’s generation it’s nothing special, but the man held a few ounces of cellphone in his hand, pressed a few buttons and what he saw appeared on my screen seconds later. That is nothing short of Dick Tracy/Buck Rogers crazy!
Yes, it’s happened incrementally but the expansion of our ability to communicate instantly over distance still boggles my mind.
If this makes me sound old, so be it.
