I got a call last night. My friend Rick lost all his Internet access. Uh oh. The Bat Light has been flashed into the clouds over Gotham City.
I spent a few hours this afternoon getting everything working… though I’m not totally sure how. I brought a spare router from home which replaces a Linksys/Airport combo.
I am showing Rick how this blog works. He’d like to re-do his site so this is a reasonable view into the software’s ‘back end,’ which is how I compose entries.

Gosh, Rick looks sad. Net addicts aren’t we all?
It’s an older photo, but I really like it and I think he does too. It’s also used as his Poker Stars icon.
If you click the photo to see a larger version you’ll see it’s quite sharp. I suspect it was taken with my Sigma 30mm f/1.4 lens because of the shallow depth of field. Hair toward the back of his head is already noticeably out-of-focus and the background pleasingly blurred.
shot was taken before poker at the fox warren. perhaps it foreshadowed my poor performance on that night. still it was a pose from a guy who’s generally happy in spite of all evidence to the contrary. worry is interest on a debt that may never come due.
