At The Airport With Big Thanks To Big John

There is a screaming kid in this gate area. He’s getting on another flight (whether he wants to or not).

Even with traffic we made the trip from Boynton Beach to Fort Lauderdale on-time. I’ve thanked my friend John Fowler before, but it can never be enough. John has been vital to my parents and essential to me–including transport to and from the airport.

As busy as I-95 was the airport was pretty dead! I walked right up to the ticket counter to print my boarding passes. I’d checked in yesterday via Southwest’s iPhone app, but you still need a paper copy. TSA was also pretty easy going. They frisked the guy right in front of me but I walked through the magnetometer and picked up my life, which at the airport ends being a life kit.

My liquids were in a plastic bag. My laptop was in its own bin. My shoes had been removed. I did the hokie pokie and turned myself around.

I’ve got a headache. I picked up four Bayer aspirins at the ‘everything’ store. Go ahead guess. Four aspirins were $1.99. Seriously. Maybe those prices are why they need security!

I’m sitting at a round table built around an existing concrete pillar. There are multiple electrical outlets and free Wi-Fi.

Hopefully the headache will go away and the rest of my trip will be this easy. Next stop Tampa with a 40 minute layover to change planes.
