One Last Look At Vegas Before We Go

A few quick shots of the pool at Mirage before we go. It is the ultimate contradiction that these beautiful hotels in the desert are defined by their relationship with water. It’s sunny, hot and dry and the pool is jammed!

  1. Geoff,
The last picture of the pool reminds me of a place in Coral Gables, FL—where we occasionally went to swim–. It had the rocks and waterfall, along with caves and I think even a rope swing out to the pool. This was back in the 50’s (1957-58) and probably no longer exists, and was considered unique at the time. I probably have old 35mm slides of the place. It is good to have memories—and your making yours now.

    1. The Mirage is now considered old and small. Maybe in Vegas! It’s still immense. It is also impeccably maintained. Las Vegas hotels compete hard against each other. This pool, plus a topless area I did not show, are big draws.
