With as many channels are there are on my TV you’d expect a few weirdos. I found one tonight while scanning the low hundreds. That’s where the eclectic standard definition channels live on my system. Have you seen Baby First TV?

BabyFirst is a fun-filled TV network made just for tots and their parents. Meet our adorable characters and introduce your child to basic building blocks like numbers, colors, animals, art, music and more! Get it on TV, online and on your mobile/tablet device.
BabyFirst. Watch your baby blossom.

I am watching “Nighttime Programs for Baby.” It’s a series of lightly orchestrated, simple instrumentals over simpler animations, videos of cute animals and even finger painting.

If you’re worried TV might be overstimulation for a child, fear not! This has all the stimulative powers of warm milk.

Call me old fashioned, but I think babies are too young for any kind of artificial stimulation, especially TV and especially this stuff. Babies need to understand the world around them. TV distracts.

When Stef was young we received many conflicting bits of parenting advice. In the end you choose what you think is best then hope she does well in spite of you!

  1. My daughter loves this channel however she is 5 year old. Her favorite show is the one with the bunny on it. Makes me think of the Swedish Cheif on the Muppets with the hands. I for once don’t have to watch the shows on this channel to see what’s on them and not worry about explaining things to her or change the channel 🙂

  2. Well, Geoff, your life has hit a new low when you’re watching the BabyFirst channel! See, the surgery will be a good thing to get you on the road to recovery and back to work! (Helaine will be happy too…)

You’ll be in my thoughts and prayers tomorrow…
